Al-Okhdoud

Al-Okhdoud (الْأَخْدُود) is an Arabic term meaning „the trench“ or „the pit.“ It is often associated with a specific historical and religious narrative found in Islamic tradition, particularly in the context of the story of the People of the Ditch, as mentioned in the Quran (Surah Al-Burooj). The term refers to a group of believers who were persecuted for their faith and thrown into a trench of fire by a tyrannical ruler. The narrative symbolizes themes of faith, sacrifice, and divine justice. In art and literature, Al-Okhdoud represents the struggle between belief and oppression, highlighting the resilience of faith in the face of adversity.
