Ligue 1

Ligue 1 is the top professional football (soccer) league in France. It is the premier division of the French Football Federation and is widely considered one of the leading football leagues in Europe. Ligue 1 features a system of promotion and relegation with the lower division, Ligue 2. The league consists of 20 teams that compete annually, with each team playing 38 matches during the season, which typically runs from August to May.

Points are awarded based on match results: three points for a win, one point for a draw, and none for a loss. At the end of the season, the team with the most points is crowned the champion. Ligue 1 has produced several renowned clubs, such as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Olympique de Marseille, and AS Monaco, contributing significantly to the sport’s popularity in France and beyond. The league is known for its competitive nature and has been a platform for many top-level players and coaches.
